The brain re-wires


The brain re-wires after damage or injury, researchers found. If damage occurs to the hippocampus, which is responsible for learning and memory, areas in the pre-frontal cortex take over, compensating for the loss. This finding can bring advancements in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and stroke.
